Balafon meeting 18 November with Youssouf Keita
|
|
|
|
A Balafon Meeting will be held in Tilburg on Saturday 18 November for (former) students and other interested parties. Among other things, Youssouf will work on 'Yogolo Mansa'. You can already prepare for this with a video lesson on the site. 10.30 - 16.00. Followed by a chat and something to eat at my place. € 40,= for this day.

Studytrip to Ivorycoast 13 January - 3 February

This winter I am going to the Ivory Coast for a balafon workshop with Youssouf, his brother Seydou and other local teachers. It's in Grand Bassam; a small hotel, 15 minutes' walk from the beach. 10 days, 5 hours of lessons a day. Five people are already joining. 'Are you coming too?'

After my participation in the African Camp, I understood that Utamaduni also supports small initiatives in Africa. In consultation with Youssouf, I drew up an application. We received almost 1,000 euros!!! Building work will now start soon ... read more on my blog ...

Workshop Schiermonnikoog 20 - 27 May

It is still far away but here is an announcement for a week's balafon workshop on Schier! In 'the Hay Barn' of the Kooijplaats. Lessons in the morning, free in activities in the afternoon, dinner together in the evening with meals prepared by ourselves. Limited group size, so if you like it,.... please sign up!

Youssouf playing concerts in Belgium / Netherlands

Adilia Yip invited Youssouf to a concert on 10 November in Brugge. Emilio and I have been looking at additional engagements. He is organising another concert in Brussels on 26 November. And on 18 November the Balafon Meeting in Tilburg, of course. It's short notice, but if you have another gig or workshop for him....
