Dutch

Könönari (Kononari) is a Malinke-rhythm for the women. Könö is a bird in the tree (ri). In the accompanying song woman (and men) are warned for arrogance because of their beauty.

Muso kenya kenya, I ta di ya le ke yu Allah b’ I la
Sunguruni kenya kenya,I ta di ya le ke yu Allah b’ I la
Muso kenya kenya, I ta di ya le ke yu Allah b’ I la
Kambeleni kenya kenya, I ta di ya le ke yu Allah b’ I la

Beautifull (young), beautifull woman, God gave you the beauty
(Sunguruni = young, unmaried woman, Kalembeni = young unmaried man)
