Dutch French

B Ba Lo We A We Lo A is a rhythm with Bwaba song created by Ouettien Dembele in which it is sung that you have to work now so that you will harvest tomorrow. It is an adaptation of the traditional piece Sanmou Were.

Ba lo we a we lo, A po o dji kourou bjo
(I say we’ll have to work)
Ba i-je re lo se o se lo, A po o dji kourou bjo
– (a) lei yi ma see njou ana mou wa
of – (a) le yi ma da-o yorra yaro
of – pjo yi ma yorra yaro
of – tee jee sa, mouja yaro
(who works, gets tyred!,
you can replace ‘Tee jee’ by a name)
or – lei sei ma ya mouja yaro
or – lei ye mon selo mwa na mo
(whoever isn’t there to work with now is probably gone to steal!)
or – lei yi ma mouja yorra yaro

2nd melody:
– A wah, ha ha, pah weh, lo dji ha ra
– A yira ha, pah weh, lo dji ha ra
– Bahana, pah weh, lo dji ha ra

Ba yira na da bo da ba ha yira ba a be ri
Ba yira na da bo da ba ha yira ba be wah
Ba yira na da bo da ba ha yira me be yee
a dji a ra ha !, ba ha yira ba a be ri,
we we o, ha ha o

In 2017 Hakiri suffered a cerebral infarction, a stroke. He can no longer use his right arm and as a result all income sources have disappeared. Besides playing balafon he was also a weaver. With a few students and friends we started a small fund to help him continue to pay the school fees for his 5 children. If you also want to contribute, please contact us?
