Solibasi

Last updated 15 December 2012

Dutch

Solibasi is an very old version of Soli. It is not played very often these days in Guinea. It belongs to the rhythm family of boy’s circumcision rituals. The rhythm is played by almost no interruption from evening to morning before circumcision to ensure that the boys stay awake and to prepare them emotionally for the event.
