Worldrecord Balafons 2017

41 BALAFOLA PLAYING TOGETHER!

The rhythm we worked on this day is ‘Bo Yaro’. To start with a workshop with all the participants getting acquainted with a – for them – unknown number. This song is a piece of music from Mali that supports the work on land. After a day of practicing and working on this rhythm, up to 41 balaphonists eventually played together; With that we achieved an unofficial world record!

To begin with, in the morning the pupils of the different classes worked on Pattern A (accompaniment) and B (solo accompaniment). In the afternoon this was followed by working together in a large group of pupils and beginners on the melody and a simplified Pattern A.
